Professional tutoring

We provide professional tutoring in Reading, Spelling, English and Mathematics for children aged 6 to 16 years.

Based on parental concerns we provide a free initial assessment of your childís abilities in order to highlight their strengths and possible areas for development. This provides a good opportunity for you to view the centre and get a feel for the help that is available.

We will suggest a programme of study created to suit the needs of your child and explain the format of the teaching sessions.

If you like what you see then a suitable session time is reserved and your child is enrolled. Children attend a weekly session of 1 hour 20 minutes. Each session consists of about 6 different activities taken from the childís individual education plan. Our unique, interactive computer programmes are used in combination with workbook tasks and other visual and audio aids to create a motivating and interesting programme. Children are focused and really enjoy the learning experience. Work is carefully planned so that the children progress at their own pace. Pupils experience success and their confidence increases dramatically. Homework is set in order to consolidate the particular learning focus of each week. Tuition is given in small groups of 3 to 5. This arrangement allows for one-to-one tuition as children require it whilst also fostering independence and self-organisation. Each child has their own computer workstation.
